Membership

Membership

Who can join, how to apply, and what membership provides.

Who can join

Membership is open to sitting and former judges, magistrates, and judicial officers in African jurisdictions, and to judicial training institutions and associations of judges and magistrates. The network also engages, on a non-membership basis, with regulators, policymakers, civil society, and technical experts for the purposes of its training and research programs.

How to join

Judicial officers may apply individually using the application form on this page. Institutions may apply on behalf of their registries or members. Applications are considered by the secretariat, which may consult the board in individual cases.

There is no membership fee. Applications do not create any obligation on the applicant beyond observance of the network's working methods and the applicable standards of judicial conduct.

What membership provides

  • Access to the network's resource hub, including bench books, case reviews, and recorded training sessions.
  • Invitations to colloquia, roundtables, and training programs.
  • The opportunity to participate in the peer exchange programme.
  • Contact points in other jurisdictions for questions of comparative law and practice.
